CY4OR takes social media advice to HR and the workplace

Much of the proactive advice which companies need about eDisclosure and data security is aimed at IT departments who have the job of managing data, and at legal departments who have responsibility for the company’s potential eDisclosure obligations.

HR departments are often overlooked, yet they have responsibility for the contracts which define employees’ responsibilities and for initiating many of the investigations into the conduct of employees.

The ease with which information can now be created and disseminated via various social media outlets makes it the more important for HR departments to understand the threats which lie in the use of social media, and to know what can be done both to pre-empt them and to detect and investigate breaches of the law or of company policy.

The ever-active CY4OR has three events coming up in and near Manchester where these these subjects are to be discussed.

One is called Social Media in the Workplace, Friend or Foe? and is run in conjunction with HR Exchange on 8 March at Oswaldtwistle Mills Conference Centre.

On 21 March, CY4OR are speaking with Berg Solicitors at the Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester on Managing the Virtual World in our Workplace.

Lastly there is an event with DLA Piper called Social Media in the Workplace taking place on 20 April in Manchester and 2nd May in London.

Information about all these events can be found on CY4OR’s blog here.
